LoadRunner – Runtime Settings – Data Format Extension – Chain Configuration

‘Chain Configuration’ under the ‘Data Format Extension’ tab of LoadRunner Runtime settings helps to set up DFE i.e. Data Format Extension setting. This setting is available only for some specific protocols. The chain configuration enables easier scripting of web applications by providing the ability to decode and encode formatted data that is exchanged between the client and the server.

You can define chain by following:

Record -> Recording Options -> Data Format Extension -> Chain Configuration

There are two options available in the chain configuration settings:

  1. Enable Data Format Extension
  2. List of defined Chains
